Membership in the New England Council for EMS (NECEMS) is open to all state, regional, and local EMS administrators, local EMS providers, medical directors, and others who are interested in working in a collaborative environment to improve out-of-hospital care throughout New England.

The Council is a non-profit corporation that meets in March, June, and September for business meetings, and in November for an annual conference and business meeting.

The annual conference is held on the Monday of Thanksgiving Week (November 25, 2002) at the Hyatt Hotel in Newport, Rhode Island. The conference has been somewhat of a best kept secret (although we don't mean it to be that way) for many years. Speakers have come from all over the country to talk about topics like: rural health, expanded scope of practice, Medicare reimbursement, data collection and analysis, terrorism, instructor training, and volunteer recruitment/retention. The setting is one that allows for interactive discussion between the participants and the presenters. Registration information will be available here this fall.
